Shane founded Ray of Light Theatre in 2001. His involvement in theatre has spanned 30+ years, and has encompassed performing, directing, teaching, designing, and producing at theatres in New York and San Francisco. Directing credits include over fifty shows. Some favorites include Jesus Christ Superstar (all-female cast), Tommy and Into the Woods; all at ROLT. Favorite on-stage credits include Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson), Grease (Doody), Joseph… (Simeon/Pharaoh). He has a degree in education with a concentration in theatre. By day, Shane lives in San Francisco with his partner, Patrick, and is a partner/real estate broker at Domicile Properties in San Francisco. He is most proud of his biggest productions, his sons Hayden and Spencer.

At ROLT, Eliza has directed Spring Awakening, Jesus Christ Superstar, LIZZIE, Into the Woods and the ongoing Cabaret Spotlight Series; performed in Silence!, Assassins, Jerry Springer the Opera, Baby and Tommy; and produced, assisted-directed or ran errands for almost every other show since 2012. A regular cabaret performer, Eliza has written and starred in six two-person musical parodies; Julie and Carol at Carnegie Hall; and a solo show, And Peggy: Songs of the Second Banana. Other credits include 42nd Street Moon, Impact Theatre, Lamplighters Music Theatre, Chardonnay Comedy, Grace Cathedral and the San Francisco Symphony. Sara joined Ray of Light’s staff as Marketing Manager in 2014 after admiring the company’s work since she moved to the city in 2012. Recent credits include Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show (’17, ’18, ’19), Reefer Madness (Assistant Director), Debbie Does Dallas with Oasis (Assistant Producer). Her days are spent running 10-4comms.com, an internal and executive comms company.

Jessica has been involved with ROLT for over 15 years and has performed in over 10 productions over the years including some favorites such as Bat Boy, Lizzie, Jerry Springer the Opera and Carrie. Jessica began her career as an Assistant Company Manager for Dodger Theatricals in NYC working on the broadway productions Urinetown and 42nd Street before joining the First National tour of Oklahoma. She spent 10 years with Theatreworks of Silicon Valley as Company and Business Manager. She still performs all over the Bay Area and currently works as a project manager in the financial tech industry. ROLT has always been a home away from home for her and she is thrilled to be a part of the team.

In 2016, Angel drove Burbank to San Francisco in hopes of finding a place that produced daring and eclectic theatre and quickly found it at Ray of Light. During her first ROLT Show (Silence! The Musical, Ardelia Mapp) she fell in love with the community and couldn’t leave! Angel is passionate about working with Ray of Light to promote inclusion and diversity within the Bay Area art scene. Stage credits include ROLT’s Jesus Christ Superstar (Peter), Oasis SF’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer Live! (Sweet, Mr. Wesley; TBA Award) , and Shotgun Player’s Iron Shoes (The Princess). Additionally: NCTC’S Avenue Q (Gary Coleman), BACT’s world premiere of She Persisted (Ruby Bridges), and Peaches Christ’s Femlins (Ms. Donte) . Since joining ROLT, Angel has choreographed Hedwig and the Angry Inch (with Alex Rodriguez) and Caroline, or Change, and served as dance captain for Jesus Christ Superstar. In addition to working with ROLT, Angel is a bilingual recording artist, dancer, children’s art educator, and performs with multicultural Bay Area band, Ja Ronn & FLOW.

Jenn received her MFA in Directing from The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago where she directed and choreographed The Conduct of Life, Waiting for Lefty, Ghosts, The Lover, The Pillowman, and Copi’s The Four Twins and developed new work with Chicago’s Lucky Plush dance company and The Pavement Group. As a recipient of an Orchard Project artist’s residency she devised, co-directed and choreographed Counterfeiters with Dog & Pony Theatre Co. Upon returning to the Bay Area she assisted on the Rocky Horror Show and West Edge Opera’s production of Lulu, directed The End of the Rainbow at OMG! Productions and the world premiere of Laura Schwendinger’s opera Artemisia with Left Coast Ensemble. Jenn has also directed The Wild Party, Reefer Madness, and Caroline, or Change at ROLT.

Caleb has been on Ray of Light Staff since our 20th Season! Caleb played Brad Majors in ROLT’s Rocky Horror Show in 2018/2019 and has been a friend/supporter/fan girl of the company since seeing Tommy in 2009. They have worked with Bay Area Theatre companies including Center Rep (Anything Goes), Diablo Theater Company (Hello Dolly, Singing in the Rain), 42nd Street Moon (Lady be Good, Sugar, Little Me) among others and was a dancer in Donn Arden’s Jubilee! at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Most recently, they were seen as Rachel Green in Friends Live! at the Oasis. When not working on a show, they work in recruiting at Newfront Insurance (we’re hiring!).

Alex has been an active member of the Ray of Light family since appearing in the 2009 smash hit I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. Since then he has produced The Who’s Tommy, assistant-directed Assassins and production-managed Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, CARRIE the Musical, Heathers: The Musical and American Psycho. He made his directorial debut with Triassic Parq in 2014, and since then has been coming up with excuses to avoid directing because, let’s be real, it’s the hardest job. Alex has also performed with other Bay Area theatre companies including Altarena Playhouse, CCCT, foolsFURY, New Conservatory Theatre Center, Pear Ave. Theatre, and Playhouse West. When he’s not in a theater, Alex works on the global communications team at Apple.

Madeline works to translate Ray of Light’s gutsy, innovative approach to musical theatre to the social space. Her greatest hits include Leaked Email-gate 2020, Patrick Bateman’s Instagram Takeover and the Rocky Horror illustrated cast announcement among others. By day, Madeline works as a writer at advertising agency Duncan Channon. Her work has appeared at Sundance, TEDxPortland, and the Time Square New Year’s Eve countdown. Madeline is thrilled to join creative powers with ROLT to bring “blood, sweat, and musicals” to stages across San Francisco

Courtney joined the Ray of Light Theatre family in 2013. Known by Coco to most in and out of the company, she spends her days at Eventbrite supporting the CEO and its mission to bring people together through live experiences. Ben has music directed almost every season since 2006, including The Last Five Years, Songs for a New World, Bat Boy, The Rocky Horror Show, The Who’s Tommy (Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award), Jerry Springer the Opera (BATCC nomination), The Full Monty, CARRIE the Musical and Yeast Nation. Ben has also worked with Berkeley Playhouse, the University of San Francisco College Players, 42nd Street Moon and New Musical Theater of San Francisco, to name just a few. Alex made his professional theatre debut touring the country for several years in the National Tour of Miss Saigon. In 2007, he moved to San Francisco and began working with Ray of Light Theatre in their production of The Secret Garden In Concert. Since then, he’s performed in six of their productions (Songs For a New World, The Who’s Tommy, Assassins, Triassic Parq (2014; TBA Award, Featured Actor), and The Rocky Horror Show). In 2015, he made his choreography debut with their production of Heathers: The Musical (TBA Award, Best Choreography). He has gone on to choreograph five ROLT productions (The Wild Party (2016; TBA Award, Best Choreography), Silence: The Musical, Reefer Madness, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch). In 2019, he made his directorial debut reimagining ROLT’s annual hit, The Rocky Horror Show. He is a graduate of Arizona State University.

Maggie designs for theatre, film, and video games. She has designed costumes for the world premieres of nationally recognized plays including HeLa by Lauren Gunderson and Geetha Reddy at TheatreFirst, I and You, by Lauren Gunderson at Marin Theatre, Truffaldino Says No! by Ken Slattery at Shotgun Players, and Wildflowers by Lila Rose Kaplan at UCSD. Her work as a production designer has been seen internationally and off Broadway with Dylan Brody’s Driving Hollywood.
