Jenn BeVard (Dramaturgy) received her MFA in Directing from The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago where she was director and choreographer for The Conduct of LifeWaiting for LeftyGhostsThe LoverThe Pillowman, and The Four Twins by Copi and developed new work with Chicago’s Lucky Plush dance company and The Pavement Group. As a recipient of and Orchard Project artist’s residency she devised, co-directed and choreographed Counterfeiters with Dog & Pony Theatre Co. Upon returning to the Bay Area she assisted on West Edge Opera’s production of Lulu at Oakland’s abandoned 16th St. Station. Most recently she directed The End of the Rainbow at OMG! Productions and The Wild Party and Reefer Madness at Ray of Light.

 

Daniel Cadigan (Technical Director) has technical-directed every Ray of Light show since Assassins in 2011, and has been working in theater for the past ten years. Past projects include The Wedding Singer42nd Street, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with San Mateo High School; Beauty and the BeastMiss Saigon, and Ragtime with Broadway By the Bay; and The Color PurpleRent, and The Crucible with the Department of Theater & Performance Studies at Stanford University.

 

Connie Carranza (Assistant Stage Manager) is honored to be working with Ray of Light again!  Her first production with them was Into The Woods and since then has worked in almost every production – recently Reefer Madness.  She has also worked with theatre companies FOGG and The Overcast.  She’d like to thank her family and friends for their support!

 

Peet Cocke (Props Designer) is a director, playwright, and designer based in Oakland. Het has an MFA in Dramatic Art from UC Davis and an MFA in Visual Art from USC. He is currently a professor of theatre at Las Positas College. His directing credits include Naomi Wallace’s No Such Cold ThingThe Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe and Charles Mee’s Under Construction and Heaven on Earth. His plays include Extraordinary MysteriesEven at a Funeral, and Already Done to You and original adaptation of the novel Voices, by Ursula Le Guin, entitled Through the Glass Darkly. As a designer and technical director his work includes The Three MusketeersFete de la NuitRomeo and JulietA Midsummer Night’s DreamART12 Angry Women, and Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome Playground Injuries.

 

Lori Fowler (Stage Manager) is happy to be back with Ray of Light Theatre and will be working with them on Hedwig and the Angry Inch as well as Rocky Horror for their third time! Lori has stage managed a lot of shows over a lot of years. When not in a dark theatre they can usually be found cross stitching snarky sayings and cuss words, baking or at the bar. Chanterelle Grover (Wardrobe Associate)  is a costume and fashion designer with amazing garment construction skills. She currently works as the First Hand at A.C.T. and San Francisco Opera. Always looking for new fun challenges, she does a lot of assistant design work and is always working on some sort of crazy project. Anton Hedman (Sound Engineer) has provided custom sound design, theater sound reinforcement and engineering, DJ services, and live/studio recording  for theaters, clubs, corporate and private events since 1991. Theodore J.H. Hulsker (Sound Designer) is a Bay Area based theater artist, composer, theater sound/video designer, and curator. This is his fifth season as resident sound and video designer at the San Francisco Playhouse. His recent theater sound design credits include Baltimore Waltz at the Magic Theater, August Osage County at Marin Theater Company, Seared with San Francisco Playhouse, and Leni at Aurora Theater Company. Theodore curates a monthly event, Klanghaus, showcasing the work of local performing and visual artists in an immersive environment, for which he received a Theater Bay Area CA$H grant in 2016. He has also developed, produced and performed in several original Klanghaus productions including “APlayAboutLeaving” and “The Office of Certain Things”. On certain moonlit nights he can be found performing in DIY spaces, bars, cafes and homes as his alter ego The SHOWMAN. He graduated as department honoree from San Francisco State University in 2012. Josh Kirkbride (Spot Operator) is an up-and-coming playwright who has been involved in Bay Area theatre for two years. He currently works as a spotlight operator for Ray of Light Theatre, as well as, Peaches Christ Productions. Originally from southern California, this San Diego transplant has rooted himself in the San Francisco theatre scene, and hopes to soon direct some his own work.

 

Eliza Leoni (Co-Director) is the associate artistic director of Ray of Light Theatre, where she directed LIZZIEInto the Woods and the ongoing Cabaret Spotlight Series; performed in Silence!AssassinsJerry Springer the OperaBaby and Tommy; and produced, assisted-directed or ran errands for almost every other show since 2012. A regular cabaret performer, Eliza has written and starred in six two-person musical parodies; Julie and Carol at Carnegie Hall; and a solo show, And Peggy: Songs of the Second Banana. Other credits include 42nd Street Moon, Impact Theatre, Lamplighters Music Theatre, Chardonnay Comedy, Grace Cathedral and the San Francisco Symphony.

 

Kuo-Hao Lo (Set Designer) has been working as set designer since 2001 and his designs received awards including Theatre Bay Area Awards for Outstanding Scenic Design 2016 Mothers and Sons, 2015 Die Mommie Die at NCTC and 2014 August, Osage County at CCCT, San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Outstanding Achievement Award Set Design- Dames at Sea (2009), Sugar Witch (2010) at NCTC, and 2013 Faces of Theatre Bay Area Honorees. B.F.A in theatre from National Taiwan Arts Academy in Taipei, Taiwan, and M.A in Theatre from Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Missouri. Christian V. Mejia (Lighting Director) is a lighting and projection designer working extensively in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. He is thrilled to return to Ray of Light Theatre after designing the lighting for The Rocky Horror Show last season. Patrick Nims (Video Coordinator) is a video designer, stage manager, tech director and director. Pat directed Company (TBA Best Production) and Fiddler – Novato Theater Company, George M and Forever Plaid – 6th Street Playhouse, DroodPeter & the StarcatcherThis Is Our Youth, and Spelling Bee – Marin Onstage, and The Rainmaker – Sonoma Arts Live. Pat is Artistic Director of Marin Summer Theater. Ben Prince (Music Director) has music directed many shows for ROLT since 2005. A few of his favorites were Heathers: The MusicalJerry Springer The OperaCARRIESilence!Bat Boy, and Songs For A New World. He has music directed productions for other Bay Area theater companies including Altar Boyz at Center REP, Avenue Q at New Conservatory Theatre Centre, and Dogfight at the San Francisco Playhouse. As a piano bar entertainer he plays every Sunday night at Martuni’s in San Francisco, and he has travelled the world playing on Holland America and Carnival cruise lines. Shane Ray (Co-Director) has been involved with theatre for 30+ years and founded Ray of Light Theatre in 2001. Directing credits include over forty shows. Favorites include Little Shop of Horrors, Godspell, Into the Woods, Tommy and Anything Goes. On-stage credits include New York performances in Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson), Grease (Doody), Anything Goes (Billy) and Joseph… (Simeon); San Francisco performances include Godspell (Jeffrey), Annie (Bert Healy) and Joseph… (Pharaoh).  He has a degree in education and theatre. By day, Shane is a Partner/Broker at Domicile Properties. He’s most proud of his biggest productions, his sons Hayden and Spencer.

 

Alex Rodriguez (Choreographer) is an award-winning Bay Area artist whose most recent credits include choreography for Ragtime (Berkeley Playhouse), Reefer MadnessSilence! The MusicalThe Wild Party (TBA Award 2016) and Heathers: The Musical (TBA and BATCC Awards 2015) for Ray of Light Theatre. National Tour: Miss Saigon. Erik Scanlon (Video Designer) is an award-winning video/projection designer, with experience on and off the stage in numerous productions around the world. He became involved with Ray of Light as their photographer for the 2013 season and then as the projection designer for the same season’s CARRIE the Musical (BATCC award). Other Ray of Light credits include Triassic Parq (Assistant Director) and Heathers: the Musical (Director)Erik has served as the associate/assistant projection designer for Holler If Ya Hear Me (Broadway), Rock of Ages (Norwegian Cruise Lines) and in Chicago for the revival of Brigadoon (Goodman Theatre). Video design credits include shows for TheatreWorks, foolsFury, Broadway by the Bay, TheatreFirst, UC Berkeley, Contra Costa Musical Theatre, Foothill Musical Theatre, Bay Area Children’s Theatre (Bay Area and Shanghai) and many more theater companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. He holds a BFA in Film Directing from the Art Center College of Design and is currently the Video Producer for Goodman Theatre in Chicago.

 

Weili Shi (Master Electrician, Assistant Lighting Designer) is thrilled to be back putting the “light” in Ray of Light Theatre for a second straight season, having previously assisted on Reefer Madness and The Rocky Horror Show. She spends her days on the product design team at Eventbrite, and is super excited about spending all her nights working on this badass production. Weili holds a BA in Performing and Media Arts from Cornell University. Much love to her family, friends, and this amazing lighting team!
